I have been captivated by the intricate and colorful beauty of the Monarch Butterfly learning about it in grade school Science class. Therefore, I was delighted to notice this Monarch Butterfly flitting around a garden I was visiting. My challenge was capturing it still on a flower; for every time I wanted to click the camera button, it would take flight. I kept following it with my camera for at least 5 minutes when it decided to light. This is one of three images I was able to capture. This image and one other were the best because the entire profile of the butterfly was visible.
